Registrations are on-going and nearing the start of the season. One of our AAA teams will be scrimmaging later today in Deep River. We have a couple more spots available on those teams, but they've been drafted and will be in uniforms in the next week. So, please don't wait any longer to register for the fall season. Our softball teams are also growing and strong!
We feel compelled to address some misinformation being provided by one other newly formed organization run by Keith Johnson. He is informing Clinton parents that there is no Little League D9 Juniors Baseball (Big Diamond--12-14yo) this year. This information is false!.
There IS D9 Juniors Baseball and we will have a team this year! We will play our home games at Indian River, all of those under the lights or on weekend days with pro umpiring crews. We will travel for away games to other towns in District 9 (D9) such as Portland, Haddam, Old Saybrook, etc. Little League offers an awesome value at $85 for the Juniors Division (see individual divisions for specific costs.) The cost includes about 12-15 games, umpires, uniforms and of course, arguably the best umbrella insurance coverage in the country. That's because we run nationwide background checks on all our coaches and adhere to strict safety standards.
Families can compare costs and ask legitimate questions about the true differences between any leagues. We respect the importance of family decisions in determining the sport and the organization their kids will participate. We've had a D9 Fall Ball Organization for decades and our program will continue in 2016.
Fall ball is preseason for the 2017 season. So, please consider what division your kids will be playing next spring and let's start the transition this fall. The time to register online is NOW! TODAY!!
Tee Ball (Pee Wee) Division--4-6yo--one or two nights per week behind Peirson School
Minor Developmental Baseball--6-8yo--clinic style practices with coaches stations, keeping the kids moving; practices end in a scrimmage so the skills get immediately applied to real game experience. They are set up for development and hustle mixed in with game scrimmage action.
AAA Baseball Division--8-9yo (young 10's)--This group will practice during the week and play games in the Madison League on Saturdays and Sundays from early September through the end of October.
Majors Baseball Division--10-11yo--This group will practice during the week and play games in the Guilford League on Saturdays and Sundays from early September through the end of October.
50/70 Baseball Division--11-12yo--This group will play on the 50/70 diamond. The standard Little League dimensions are 46' from home plate to the mound and 60' base path lengths. This slightly larger diamond allows the kids a chance to learn and play real baseball with leading off and stealing. The 50' mound distance and 70' base paths provide an excellent way for kids to step up and adjust before hitting the big diamond (60' mound and 90' base paths).
Juniors Baseball Division--12-14yo--This is big diamond baseball. This group plays a District 9 Home and Away Schedule against towns such as Killingworth, Old Saybrook and Haddam. This is big diamond baseball.
Minors Softball Division--8-10yo--This group will practice during the week and play games on weekends against other shoreline towns.
Majors Softball Division--10-12yo--This group will practice during the week and play games on weekends against other shoreline towns.
Register today for Fall Ball Season...it's a great experience and an awesome way to enjoy the beautiful fall season!!
